The Lantern Award application asks you to tell your story. 

What you are proud of and what you do well is the story ENA wants to hear.

 

Prior to starting the application, you are strongly encouraged to review the "Application Assistance" documents via the links below; particularly the Lantern Award Coaching Guide

  • The Coaching Guide has been developed to help you appraise your facility's readiness and to help you best demonstrate your emergency department’s achievements within the application. 
  • This guide presents a brief overview for each application section and describes what is required in each question's response to assist your team in a successful journey to achieve the Lantern Award.


After reviewing the Coaching Guide, if this is the first time you are applying, begin your application by clicking on the purple "REGISTER" button in the upper right corner of this page.

Note: If you have previously applied, you are already registered. An "APPLY" button will appear instead.

  • Enter your information - Do not register using the Facebook, Twitter or Google links.
  • Click the "Create Account" button.
  • You will receive an email asking you to verify your email address.
    • If you do not receive an email within one minute, please check your spam or junk folder.
  • Confirm your email address.
  • Log in.
  • Begin your application by clicking on the "APPLY" button.
    • Enter your hospital and emergency department name.
    • Click on "Create Application."
    • You will be taken to a page listing the application tasks.
      • Click on each task to enter your information.
    • You may also assign co-collaborators from this page.
    • Also on this page, click on " 'i' Instructions" for more information.


All typed information is saved automatically as it is entered. You may return to the application as many times as needed.


Application fee: $3,500 for all hospitals

Payment may be made prior to, during, or after completing the application.

Payment may be made via credit card, check or electronic transfer. All payments are due by March 30, 2026.

  • Credit Cards
  • Via check - Please email LanternAward@ena.org and an invoice will be provided to you.
  • Via electronic transfer - Please include the name of your individual hospital in the transfer so payment may be accurately applied.
